Has Song been better than Mo Diame ?

Both started very brightly and dwindled away pretty sharpish, could it be blamed on the style the manager or are West Ham simply used as a stepping stone club and that is the reason they play so badly ?

As I said earlier in the thread, totally different types of player and Song was not Diame's replacement Koyoute was.

I liked Diame. Think it was a mistake selling. More attack minded than Song. So different type of player. Nice to see them together with Kouyate in our midfeild.

Even though Mo Diame got off to a good goal scoring start for Hull after Song's first few games for us there was no comparison between the two in my eyes.
However as time has passed and Song's early season flourish has become a distant memory the gap in class and usefulness between them has narrowed in my view.

I wonder if Diame has a relegation release clause? I'd take him back as a squad player this summer in place of Nolan.

Take the piss all you want, but Song for the first half of the season was as good as i've seen in Claret and Blue.

Not sure Song is as good as some seem but at least the first part of the season he was more consistant than Diame.
Diame has an excellent player in him but lets himself down with some no-shows.
However, Kouyate has been better for West Ham than both of them in my opinion.

Song is 10 times the player Diame is.
He's struggled since White Towel Day... But who hasn't?
I'd love to see him signed on a permanent with a decent manager in charge.

he's on the decline by the looks of it
all this other playing making him look average is bollocks, very good players look the part regardless who they're playing with especially at this level
Kayoute looks a much better player and look what he cost

Showed a lot of promise in the earlier games but has been piss poor for most of the second half of season.He isn't worth anything like 15m Barcelona are after and I doubt the likes of Liverpool will bid for him.

Personally think Song has real issues with his knees and they are starting to affect him as well as his bad attitude.

I think the turning point was Leicester at home. He was literally running the midfield on his own. When he'd get the ball there'd be like 3 leicester players on him; Absolutley no support from the rest of our slow midfeild. Don't blame him for having the hump. Thank uncle Sam for that.
